She apparently has a law degree, as mentioned in the holotape "Hi Honey", given by Codsworth after the protagonist exits the Vault.
Even if she is not picked to be the player character, it is possible to edit her appearance before finalizing whether to play her or Nate.
If she is selected to be the Sole Survivor, then the player chooses her name, appearance, and SPECIAL stats.
If she was not chosen to be the player character, she was executed by two mysterious figures, one of them being Kellogg, as they took Shaun away. While getting ready, a Vault-Tec representative approaches the family and approves them for admittance into Vault 111. On the morning of October 23rd, 2077, Nate is preparing to go to a Veteran's hall. She also at some point earned a law degree and planned to get a job with it following Shaun's birth. At some point before 2077, she married Nate and had a child, Shaun.
